Mind over Matter || Day 5

I failed myself today. I didn’t run.

Well, I didn’t run continuously for the whole 30 minutes. I did about 10 minutes of light running, then 20 minutes of uphill sprints and walking. I also spent most of the time trying to figure out why I did this whole thing in the first place, but I carried on. I really didn’t feel like just running straight, so I switched it up to keep it fun for myself. It is my own personal challenge so I can change things up depending on what I feel like. For me the most important thing I’m trying to impose on myself again is habit. It’s something I lost a few months ago for a number or reasons, but I’m working on it. I’m taking this one step at a time while still having the bigger picture in mind. This challenge is also getting me back in the habit of blogging, so that’s a plus as well!

It was pretty hard getting myself out to run today. I knew I had to do it, so I did. I’m proud of myself for being stronger than the voice inside my head telling me to take the easier path and for that I am another run stronger. I’m at this point though where I’m wondering when it’ll start to feel more natural… Thing is, I’ve got so much energy for the run, but I just can’t seem to get myself to really enjoy it yet. I’d probably enjoy it a lot more though if the scenery were good, not a lot to be excited about when you’re surrounded by concrete and pollution. Tomorrow I’m running in Nuvali, Santa Rosa though, so that should be lots of fun.

Distance: 3.44km

Location: Our Village

What I ate today:

Breakfast: Passionfruit, Papaya

Lunch: Papaya, Durian, and a  Simple Salad

Dinner: Banana Smoothie, a Simple Salad, and a piece of Durian

Something strange happened today during lunch… I actually felt like I was sick of durian for a few minutes. My sister and I felt the same way, it must have just been because it was so rich and creamy and the fact that we both had 3 giant pieces each. I had to make myself a salad to balance it all off. It was a first, that’s for sure. Now I’m rethinking my Davao trip though… Nah, I need that Durian Davao trip. I did enjoy another piece after my dinner salad though because my salad wasn’t sweet, and I always love ending my days with sweets. I enjoyed it greatly and am over the whole “thinking I was sick of it” thing.

It was a fun and successful day in the kitchen again today. I’m working on recipes for the Vegan Challenge this coming May so you should really email me if you’re interested to join because I will be emailing a lot of recipes before they get posted! I will share a more detailed post soon!
