Sometimes the hardest thing is to take the first step, but for me it’s following through right after that first step and truly fully committing. It’s the first week that can be pretty rough and challenging. Today I woke up with the urge to stay in bed. I wasn’t sore, but I wasn’t excited to run. Although I was really excited about the whole challenge yesterday. I have no idea what happened between the time I went to bed and the time I woke up that my body decided it didn’t want to do this.
Woke up at 6am and was out of the house soon after. Today we decided to run in Quezon Memorial Circle just because changing of scenery helps me not get bored too fast. I know a lot of people who can just keep running until they need to eat because they’ve been running for so long. I am clearly not that person. I will run a few meters and want to stop. I powered through today, even though every second was spent wanting to stop. I knew it was all in my head. I hated that we ran so early that it was still cold outside though, I like the heat when I sweat, not cold air brushing my skin.
Location: Quezon Memorial Circle
You’ll notice my distance increased by .4km and I’m assuming it was simply because there were no uphill runs.
What I ate Today:
Breakfast: Lots of fresh Coconut Water, Beet of my Heart Juice, Passion fruit
Lunch: 1 Whole Red Watermelon
Dinner: 10 Honey Bananas, Simple Salad- Romaine, Grape Tomatoes, 1/2 Avocado, Mango, Calamansi, Pepper, chili flakes
Side note: I’m taking advantage of the fruit in season, and I absolutely love honey bananas! I’m not actually sure if they are technically called that but the person we buy them from call them espanyola bananas, while a friend of mine called them honey bananas. I noticed today while I was eating it that it does taste a bit like honey, so I’ll stick with that! Plus, they are only P20 per kilo which is quite a great deal for my favorite variety of bananas!
So that was day 2 for me, and I think it was a good day. I’m another day stronger than I was yesterday. Now I end the day recalling inspiring words about doing things purposefully, and I try to keep that in mind because when we do things in life we should do it with purpose. We shouldn’t do things just for the heck of it. We should visualize that end goal, and run, dance, jump, crawl, or whichever way we choose to get there as long as we make it a point to try our best. Life shouldn’t be about random events, it should be about creating meaningful ones.
I hope you guys are building yourselves towards those goals because you can achieve whatever you set your mind to do.
Peace and Love,
